Full stack developer [EN]

Legalstart is a legal-tech startup based in Paris.

We are developing France 1st 100% online legal services platform. We give back to entrepreneurs full control over their legal life, through an online application that allows them to manage their legal documents and procedures in an automated fashion.

Launched in the beginning of 2014 by its founders coming from the web industry, law and finance, attracts thousands of clients.

By joining Legalstart, you come into a highly growing project, lead by a experienced team, determined to disrupt the legal space through technologies and an innovative business.

We are 2 full-time developers at the moment, working with several freelancers. Our aim is to bring the team to 4 full-time developers until the end of 2016.


We are looking for an ambitious and autonomous full stack developer to work on improving our product and bring new ideas.

Your responsibilities will span the whole engineering effort as well as help growing the technical team.

Your work will notably include :

  • rewriting our dynamic forms front-end (using React/Redux)
  • implementing new features for automatisation, notably scraping (Python or Node)
  • improve our documents app UX: document generation, online signing, collaboration
  • conceiving a new software for creating intelligent legal documents
  • enhance our codebase and our infrastructure (notably scaling issues)

  • backend: Python/Django, Celery, Jython, Node, …
  • front-end: JQuery, React, Sass
  • data: Postgres, RabbitMQ, Redis
  • infra: Heroku, AWS, Docker
  • other: git, pytest & nosetests, Distelli (CI), Jira, …

Ideally, you:

  • have a strong programming experience (2 years), with a good knowledge of web development
  • already have a good hands-on experience with Python and Javascript (front-end or back-end)
  • use best practices in testing, versioning
  • have good bases of all what is Unix and already played with dev-ops tools
  • are a good team-player, and know well how to communicate with non-tech people

You’re not expected to master the whole stack, rather to be comfortable with working with it from day 1 and to develop related skills quickly.
